Illorum regio et urbs Taranrasia, vulgo Le pays de Tarentaise, testibus Marlianô et Tscudô ubi Centronum pagus vulgo Centron vel Sentron, inter Augustam Praetoriam, 12. et Genevam 14. leuc. visitur. Ferrar. A foro claudii Aximani petenti ad dextram procul a via visendum se praebet. Quidam tamen Bergintrum Sentron esse putant, quod a Tarautasia 18. mill. pass. abest. Eorum urbes apud Claudium Ptolemaum Arima, hodie vicus magnus Esma vel Aime dictus, 4. leuc. a Foro Claudii et primaria Forum claudii, Moustier en Tarentaise, urbs Archiepiscopalis ad Isaram fluv. qui illam dividit interfluitque: a Claudio regionis praefecto, qui ibi ius dixit, appellata: postea tamem Darantasiae nomen assumpsit, seu Tarantasiae, quod non urbi modo, sed etiam toti tractui Alpino centronum est attributum. Habet haec urbs Metropolis sedes sub se duas, Sedunensem ac Augustanam, et plerisque a veteri aliquo monasterio Monasterium vocatur; unde Môtier, Monstier vel Moustiers dicitur: Olim vero ipsa Viennensi sedi fuerat subiecta. Hinc Centronicae Alpes: Caseus apud Centrones Vatusicus, a Vatusia vel Vatusio, hodie locoignoto, olim nobilis. Vide Hadr. vales. Notit. Gall.
